CLIENT SUCCESSES: PRIVATE SECTOR

MARRIOT

Business Challenge

As a result of dynamic changes in market forces and projected new demands by global customers, this client developed a strategic global sales initiative to proactively address these and other business challenges in 2008. This EVP sponsored program required a major reorganization of sales teams across all markets and significant redesign and replacement of existing Sales and Reporting Systems. The client expected to achieve a more efficient and effective global sales force and gain substantial market share from competitors, and the IT systems were central to the program's success.

Top5's Involvement

During a multi-year engagement, a Top5 team of approximately 20 resources led the design, development, testing and deployment of new sales data warehouse systems and reports across all market channels. Top5 project managers worked directly with the client's senior business executives to align requirements with the new organization and global sales strategy and then design, build and deploy the new systems across markets. Top5 teams were subsequently retained over a 3 year Managed Services contract to support and maintain the systems after go-live.

Tangible Results

As a direct result of Top5's successful deployment of the new sales and reporting systems, the client was able to achieve demonstrable volume improvements and efficiencies across major market segments.

The Home Depot

Business Challenge

Home Depot wanted to streamline and enhance its relationship with large commercial customers to drive additional revenue through customer loyalty and enablement. Home Depot needed to develop an actionable business case and requirements for a “commercial customer touch point” system designed to increase market share within this critical customer segment.

Top5's Involvement

As a partner since 2005, Top5 was selected to lead the design, development and deployment of an automated order entry system for this client's commercial building supply division. Top5 worked directly with business executives across five North American sales regions to develop the business case and requirements for this “commercial customer touch point” system.

Tangible Results

Utilizing our RUP-based development methodology and the Six Engineering Disciplines, Top5 successfully built, tested and deployed the application across all North American field offices and enabled the client to achieve 4% gains in market share as well as significant enhancements to customer support and loyalty.

Jetblue Airways

Business Challenge

As one of the fastest growing commercial carriers, this client had quickly outgrown their aircraft maintenance and scheduling system in 2007 and the FAA had mandated a replacement.

Top5's Involvement

Top5 was engaged to lead an assessment of a major vendor initiative which was underway to customize, integrate and convert legacy data for the new FAA mandated aircraft maintenance and scheduling system. As a result of our assessment and recommendations, the client asked Top5 to assume responsibility for this project which was behind schedule and receiving FAA compliance directives.

Tangible Results

Top5 successfully “rebooted” the project and focused the management and implementation teams on critical path issues necessary to meet tight FAA requirements and deadlines. Top5 successfully led requirements definition, design, build, testing and deployment of this critical aircraft maintenance and scheduling system. This allowed the client to continue flying their fleet of 150+ aircraft without the risk of FAA fines, violations and public relations issues.
